FES was appointed as Main Contractor for a new build Energy Centre and refurbishment of an existing data hall for a leading UK Bank.

The scope of the project was to construct a new energy centre to house mechanical and electrical plant providing 1500 W/m2 requirements for data hall 2.  The refurbishment of data hall 2 (while maintaining data hall 1 live and operational) comprised the removal and replacement of the existing roof outer cladding, extending the generator building for the installation of an additional 5th MV generator and completion of the PMS controls upgrade for all 5 generators, including the introduction of the new utility MV switchgear.

Mechanical services provided N+1 resilience including refurbishing existing AHU’s, installing new CRAC units and thermo syphon chilers. Electrical services provided dual string from site entry at 11kV however N+1 electrical infrastructure with dual string put’s with 100% ups data load and critical building services load.
