Forth Valley College needs to be confident that its facilities are available for use when required: FM FES is responsible for maintaining availability in line with agreed service delivery criteria.

By working with the design and construction team, FES FM has ensured that the design and control systems have sufficient resilience to meet the College’s demands. At the same time, backup systems are in place so that services are available at all times. Manufacturers’ warranties are in place to cover any equipment failure and maintenance is always scheduled around the College’s curriculum and community activities.

Integrated design, installation and FM approach

A major factor that contributed to the successful outcome was the integrated approach between design, installation and on-going operation of the facilities. The team members had worked extensively with each other on a number of projects, a factor that enabled them to align the architectural design to the services strategy and ultimate operational processes.
