Turf Cutting at Cumbernauld Academy and Theatre Campus

A "sod cutting" ceremony was held recently to mark the official launch of the Cumbernauld Academy and Theatre Campus project.  Deputy First Minister, John Swinney attended to cut the ceremonial turf and was joined by representatives from Morrison Construction, FES, hub South West Scotland and North Lanarkshire Council.

The Cumbernauld Campus is the third in a series of large school projects designed and built by North Lanarkshire Council and hub South West.  FES Ltd has been awarded the contract for the installation of building services. FES FM appointed as Tier 1 contractor for the delivery of hard facilities management and lifecycle services over a 25 year period.  This new appointment complements the wider success of FES FM in delivering facilities management services to North Lanarkshire Council at the nearby Greenfaulds High School.

Scheduled to open in summer 2019, the new purpose built high school will have the capacity to accommodate over 1100 students.  The Campus project is unique in that it will also house a new theatre and arts venue for the Cumbernauld Theatre Trust.
