FES Apprenticeship Scheme & Training

Apprenticeships

Apprentices are our future, so we invest in them. We are proud of having trained over 1,600 apprentices across various trades to date.

An apprenticeship scheme with FES provides individuals with an opportunity to work and learn with our work-based training programmes. The majority of the training is provided ‘on the job’ with the remainder provided by local colleges and our in-house Training Academy.

FES Group provides apprentice opportunities across various trades. If you are interested in becoming an apprentice there are pre-employment assessment tests for certain roles that you will have to sit and pass, prior to applications being considered.

Apprenticeship applications are now open (see below How to Apply).

Electrician

If you are interested in becoming an Apprentice Electrician you will be following a Modern Apprenticeship and will achieve an SCQF 7 in Electrical Installation. The first step is to register with SECTT for the Pre-Employment Assessment.

This assessment covers both technical comprehension and numeracy subjects and is carried out at a college local to you.

Further information can be found here:

Heating & Ventilation

If you are interested in becoming a Heating & Ventilation apprentice you will achieve an SCQF 6 in Mechanical Engineering Services. The first step is to sit the BPEC Aptitude and Selection Test.

FES Training Academy

All apprentices are managed by our dedicated Training Manager who works closely with the apprentices, their site team and their learning provider to ensure each individual receives the support they need to successfully complete their apprenticeship.

Our purpose built in house training academy features a number of specially designed training booths equipped for a range of trades, enabling our Training Manager and his team to offer additional training and explanation of techniques for any apprentice.

We believe that our significant investment in this facility provides our apprentices with a thorough grounding and deeper understanding of their particular trade.

How to Apply

We typically start recruiting for our trade apprentices between March and May each year. Should you be interested in applying for any of our apprenticeship schemes then simply complete the form below and attach your cv and cover letter.
